5 best teahouses in Seoul
Though South Korea has been embracing the coffee culture in recent years (a new Starbucks seems to spring up every week) the country hasn?t entirely forgotten its traditional tea roots.
Whether it?s warming up during the insanely cold winters or chilling out with friends on the terrace under cherry blossoms in spring, Seoul has a handful of great teahouses worth exploring.
Gul
Who says tea can only be enjoyed sitting down? Gul, the Korean word for honey, is a great little take away hut that serves up sweetened teas made from fresh honey. It also sits right in the heart of Ssamziegil Square, a funky shopping area.

Tyler Perry, 'For Colored Girls,' Win Big at NAACP Image Awards

Tyler Perry has yet to crack the Oscar ceiling, but the multi-hyphenate took home the gold at the NAACP Image Awards Friday night (March 4), winning Best Director and Best Picture for his "For Colored Girls. The flick also nabbed a statue for co-star Kimberly Elise, who won for Best Supporting Actress.
Based on Ntozake Shange's 1974 Broadway hit "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf," Perry's film follows the lives of nine black women in and around Harlem, all of whom are confronted with an interpersonal crisis.
While ostensibly about trouble and heartbreak, the flick is really about "basic human love and regard for one another," Elise told MTV News.
"[It's a] great statement on sisterhood and community," Elise said of the movie. "I think you do leave the film feeling like, 'I am woman, I can do this, I can stand on top of this pain and especially with my sisters around me.'"
To nab the award, Elise had to best three of her co-stars from the ensemble flick, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, and Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg. The fifth nominee, Jill Scott, was also singled out for her performance in a Perry flick, "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?"
Among other film winners, double Oscar winner Denzel Washington took the trophy as Best Actor for "The Book of Eli," Halle Berry won Best Actress for "Frankie & Alice," and Samuel L. Jackson nabbed Best Supporting Actor for his turn in "Mother and Child."
In the musical categories, Usher, who recently agreed to donate to charity all proceeds from an appearance at a New Year's Eve concert linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, won Best Male Artist and Mary J. Blige won for Best Female Artist.
Presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the NAACP Image Awards celebrate "the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts," according to their website.

Finally! Bangkok gets authentic bagels
For 19 years, Eric Seldin has asked friends returning from overseas the same question: ?Can you bring back some bagels??
Getting really good bread in Bangkok is hard enough, and it becomes even more difficult when one tries to find the unique, chewy texture of a real bagel.
But now, Seldin?s bagel-borne frustrations are no more, and it?s all due to, well, himself, and a team of like-minded friends and associates who just opened the BKK Bagel Bakery.
?For the longest time, we had to do with bagels in Bangkok that were essentially just round pieces of bread,? says the career video journalist. ?But a few years ago I had a stroke, and needed to find something else to keep me busy besides my video work.?

Semi-Permanent arrives in Hong Kong
Like a TED talk, on steroids, for the creative set, Semi-Permanent is a two-day conference that has arrived in Hong Kong for the first time.
Mostly, it will feel like a huge, long party with some nutty creative types (venues include clubs Fly and Republik).
?It?s a raw, edgy conference. People share their work, their lives, their passions, what pisses them off. We have people turning up in their underwear. One guy turned up in a dress because he said there weren?t enough female speakers,? says Simon Velvin, worldwide director of Semi-Permanent.
Fittingly "raw and edgy" is the poster image for the conference: designer Stefan Sagmeister's scarred blood and flesh.

Miranda Kerr: US Embassy Babe
Making the most of her time overseas, Miranda Kerr was spotted at the US Embassy in Paris, France today (March 4).
The 27-year-old supermodel looked to be in good spirits as she smiled for photographers. She?s been enjoying all the Paris Fashion Week festivities as of late.
Yesterday, Miranda showed off her post-baby body by walking the runway at two Balenciaga shows.
Despite the fact that she gave birth to baby Flynn just two months ago, Ms. Kerr was ready to go. An insider told press, ?Miranda was excited to be back on the catwalk in Paris... and loved every minute of it.?

The goal of the CPPCC: ?Make people happy?
Only six percent of Chinese people see themselves as happy, reports China Daily of a recent survey released on Monday. This is despite the government's recent efforts to improve the population's sense of happiness through new economic and social policies.
This statistic is in line though with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao?s statements ahead of the start of the Fourth Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top political advisory body.

American Idol Judge Steven Tyler: I Am Trying Not To Swear
?I really love Idol,? Steven told the New York Post. ?There's a lot of talent and some great kids out there.?
Although the mouthy judge recognizes the challenges ahead, Steven still plans to fully embrace the spontaneity a live show presents, which was evident in Tuesday?s show, when the Top 12 male contestants hit the stage.
?Now we are seeing 15-year-olds who seem like they are 28. We are taping live now, and I am trying not to swear, but sometimes you've just got to be emphatic. If someone is f***ing good, I'm going to say it."

Jet-Setting Lady Gaga Takes to Toronto
Finished up with her runway duties, Lady Gaga made her way back to North America as she jetted from Paris to Toronto on Thursday (March 3).
Upon deboarding her private plane as she landed in the Canadian locale, the "Alejandro" singer posed for pictures in front of her bus for photographer Terry Richardson while gearing up for a Monster Ball concert at the Air Canada Centre.
As for her time in the CIty of Lights, Gaga made her much-awaited catwalk debut during the Thierry Mugler Ready to Wear show on Wednesday night.
Talking about the gig after strutting her stuff, the 24-year-old said, "[I thought that] for a fashion show, maybe he wants something a bit more underground, one of the more avant-garde records from the album, but he really wanted me to use ['Born This Way'."
She added, "He said it represented female empowerment and that's what the song is all about, and I think that's what Nicola is all about, and I'm just really proud to be here."
Also asked her thoughts on scandal plagued designer John Galliano's unsettling anti-semitic comments, Gaga refused to chime in, as she replied, "Let's skip that question. Let's keep it positive!"

Oscar-Nominated 'Fighter' Actors, Producers 'Screaming' Over Nods
'They're just as happy if the other one wins,' producer Ryan Kavanaugh says of Amy Adams' and Melissa Leo's Best Supporting Actress noms.

While the teams behind "The Social Network" and "The King's Speech" are toasting their Oscar noms, another group of folks is also celebrating Tuesday morning's (January 25) Academy Award nominations announcement. The cast and crew of "The Fighter" earned seven nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (David O. Russell), Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale), and two Best Supporting Actress nods for Amy Adams and Melissa Leo.
MTV News spoke with "Fighter" producer and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh (Relativity fully produced and financed the film) just after he heard the big news.
"When I got the news, I was on the phone with David O. Russell and [Mark] Wahlberg and myself, kinda watching and I think you could hear screaming through each house," he said of their reactions. "The person I'm most excited for is David O. Russell because he really deserved it, he really delivered this package. He's obviously had his ups and downs in his career, as many people have. He really came through on this movie and it's nice that the Academy noticed that for him."
Kavanaugh's fellow producer and the star of the film, Mark Wahlberg, also praised the director and his co-stars in a statement: "It has been such an incredible journey with 'The Fighter' and one that I am grateful to share with David O. Russell, Christian, Melissa, Amy, my fellow producers and the Ward and Eklund families, who are the heart and soul of the film. Thank you to the Academy for this tremendous honor."
Regarding Adams' and Leo's dual nominations in the Best Supporting Actress category, the Relativity Media CEO said the actresses won't be thinking about competition at all.
"It's funny because I think Amy and Melissa, they're just as happy if the other one wins," he said. "They are competing against each other but at the same time, I think they're both really happy for the other one."
Kavanaugh went on to say that although he'd like to go back to bed — Oscar nominations were announced at 5:30 a.m. on the West Coast — he has a long day of work and, later, congratulating to do.
"I've got a pretty full day coming up. I'll stop by Mark's house, I'll stop by David's house, give 'em both a big hug," he said. "[I'll] try and stop by Christian's house although he's probably holed up and won't even turn on the TV until 10 a.m."

Nicki Minaj: "Moment 4 Life" Video On the Way
Her fans have patiently waited for this, and tomorrow will bring Nicki Minaj's long-awaited ?Moment 4 Life? video on MTV.
The clip, which was shot in December in Los Angeles, features Young Money labelmate Drake and is rumored to show the pair playing up their "are they or aren't they?" relationship with a kiss, says MTV?s website.
Of the video, Drake said, "I think it's crazy that somehow, some higher power brought all these individuals together."
"I remember being on the [tour] bus when Wayne played me ?Tha Carter III,? which went on to sell a million copies in one week. Then it was ?Thank Me Later.? It was this big pressure, and that went on to sell what it did,? the Canadian rapper added.
